Jandel manufacture a number of custom and specialist use probe heads, including:
Hall Probe
Jandel manufacture this probe head for use in Hall Effect measurements. The probe has a low profile (18.5mm) so that it can be placed between the poles of a magnet during measurements.
High Vacuum Version Probe
The Jandel cylindrical probe head has been successfully used in vacuum that was at 1 x 10^-10m bar. The application was described in the "Journal of Physics: Condens. Matter 3 (1991) S291-S296".
All the connections are crimped, and instead of the usual wire lead, the brass terminal pins are replaced by hypodermic tube and extended through the top of the probe head and vacuum wire crimped into each separately. Thus there are four insulated conductors to be connected to the measuring equipment.
Non-anodised aluminum alloy is used for the body, nose-piece, and top, instead of the usual anodised material, and the pad is made from ruby.
Very Close Spacing Probe
Jandel offers probes with close needle spacing (0.500mm) in several models including the Cylindrical Probe, Six-Way Probe, Four-Pin Probe, and Cartridge with Lead. This is a high resolution picture showing a comparison of Jandel's closest spacing probe (0.500mm / 20 mil) and the widest standard spacing (1.591mm / 62.6 mil).
